boo!

When I first got my hands on a digital camera, I was in love.

When I first got my hands on a digital SLR, it was an addiction. I carried it everywhere, took pictures nearly every day for six months. Some 7000 or so photos later (some posted online in an attempt at a photojournal), I lost access to the camera when I left the job that had allowed me the luxury of carrying the camera. That was an EOS D30 and it was 2001.

Fast-forward two years. I'd been eyeing the Canon EOS 10D since before its release. I grew up on an EOS 630, so Canon was and is my tool of choice. I saved and saved and despite other financial issues, dropped the cash on a new EOS 10D and 28-135IS lens. I haven't been happier in the past two years.

I searched around for a web-gallery tool and stumbled upon JAlbum, thanks to MacOSXHints.com. Little did I realize the true flexibility and ease of JAlbum. It's amazing and I'm barely tapping its potential. Check it out yourself.

about me

I'm a web/graphic designer by day (and night). I design, architect and build web sites. I leave the backend programming stuff to others, but I can hand-code a wicked standards-compliant pure CSS site. I also enjoy the opportunity to do identity and print design. If you're really interested, check out my portfolio.

I'm looking to expand my photographic skills beyond amateur fun, so if you happen to have need for a photographic assistant/lackey or feel like sharing a thing or two with me, please feel free to drop me a note.

On the weekends (and occassional evenings) I detail cars. New, old, classic, beaters, whatever. There's something extremely satisfying and relaxing about it, even if it takes all day. Some of the cars in the gallery were detailed by yours truly. It's an obsession and it pays pretty well. Like photography and design - only a little more dirty.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy.
